For a computer geek, I really don’t spend much time online. In fact, I tend to go to extra efforts to optimize my time spent on a computer because I’m already ensured an eight-hour day of programming for work. So for me to take more time out of my life to sit down and write is hard.
My encouragement comes from Scott Hanselman and several others in the technical community who take the time to write about the new things they find, challenges they have overcome, or just cool stuff they wanted to share with others. I plan to find a few areas that I enjoy talking about and try to keep a consistent pace over the next three months.
Here are the areas I plan to include:
- Programming – this is what I do for a living and what I do for fun at times. I spend a lot of time learning and improving myself in this area so I have a few things to share.
- Gaming – this has been a passion of mine since I was about 5 years old and my grandparents introduced me to the Commodore 64 and a fun little game called Jumpman. Ever since then I’ve been playing every kind of game I can get my hands on and find the time to play.
- Bible – this is an area that I have made time for but I could always use some encouragement to spend more time in study. This is an important area to me and I’d like to get a few of my thoughts out in the open.
So there you have it! My plan for the next three month is to blog about the three topics above at least two times each. I think that’s a fair enough goal and it sounds obtainable. Wish me luck!
